i think it is a great way to express yourself and stand out.
piercing are awesome – i have 13 (with plans for more) and i am completely addicted.
and tattoos are beautiful – it is nothing but art. i think they’re great especially with meaning behind them – i don’t have any yet but i know plenty of people with them and i have an appointment to get my first on april 1
– i can’t wait!!!!!!
Well, first off, I can give you MY point of view on tats and piercings. Personally, I have 5 tattoos and 20 piercings. (9 in each ear, my left tragus and my tongue. At one point, I had my left eyebrow and lip pierced also. Three of my tattoos are on my upper back (across my shoulders) a tramp stamp and one on my left foot.
I think tattoos are a good way to express yourself, but I also think that a lot of people get some of the most retarded things inked PERMANENTLY on their bodies. A lot of people tend NOT to think about what they’ll think about their ink in 10 years. I like full sleeves and pretty well any tattoos as long as it has a real meaning to the person who has it, you know?
I would recommend googling tattoo history. That will help you understand views on the tat/piercing industry a lot more.

I know a lot of ppl say its against God and what not (nothing against ANY religion, just making a point) but they have THEIR ears pierced…so figure. They try to say tats and piercings are against God, but technically, so is a woman cutting her hair, or modifying her body in any way…so that argument never stuck with me at all.
I wish you the best of luck with your debate. Keep it fun
Well, I think in general tattoos are considered less taboo in todays culture than in the past. At least in America anyway. (Some cultures have tattoos as a sort of rite of passage so in those cultures not having a tattoo is taboo.) Despite more and more people having tattoos in the US there is still definitely negativity towards tattoos. Some companies won’t hire you if you have any visible tattoos that can’t easily be covered by clothing. My dad works at Petsmart as a manager and has to wear wrist bands around his arm tattoo whenever he wears short sleeve shirts because it is against company policies to show tattoos. I have a tattoo but I purposely got it in an area (my shoulder) that could be easily covered up for work because not everyone is tolerant of them. I personally love tattoos as long as you don’t cover your whole body in them. They are very personal for those that get them. Tattoos can be a good way to overcome certain obstacles in your life or make a statement. There is a great show on the History channel called “Taboo” and they have a whole episode on Tattoos. You should download it if you can. I think it will help. I don’t much about piercings though other than the one I have in my belly button. That too is okay with me in moderation (at least on my body). I think Taboo also has an episode on piercings. It may be combined with the tattoo one though.
You might want to research how the procedures are and some of the health issues on tattooes and piercings.
My opinion as far as piercings is that some are a little trashy but things like the nose and belly button is cute…Some of the nasty ones are like the lip or nose. Extreme stretching of the piercing holes and like piericing all over your body is disgusting like the arms and face and such.
Some tattoos are cute. I think it is cool as long as it is something that you like or means something big to to you now like when you tattoo your whole body where that is pretty much all you see is a little weird. I am not against it really but its just not attractive to me. They can do as they please
Tattoos are our way of expressing ourselves, our views, who and what we are.
I have 10 tattoos and each one is designed by me and has a meaning to it.
I got my 1st one about 10 yrs ago, when i was 37,it was my way of letting others know how i felt and how i wanted to be remembered when i get old & gray.
I also have 2 piercings, both in the same eyebrow.
I plan on getting at least 4-5 more before i’m 50.
