What career opporitunities are available for people with tattoos and peircings?
I am interested in tattoos and peircings, but realistically I always wanted to know what kind of careers are available for people like that. Not jobs like retail and factory workers but careers like teaching, doctors, dentists, case workers, etc. Or, what other than porn, modeling, being an artist or musician is there to do?

My ex is a stage hand and does well. All kinds of out there looking people work there. He is about to do BET hip hop awards next week. Check out info about the IATSE
if you really want tattoos and piercings, get the tattoos in places that can easily be covered up. and for piercings, you can always take them out. so you can have any career you want.
People with tattoos and piercings can work anywhere, granted they can hide their tattoos and piercings. A teacher of mine in high school had several tattoos on him. My doctor has a tattoo but he keeps it covered, and my dentist’s assistant has her monroe pierced.
It all depends on the dress code of the company or institution you work for. There are liberal places out there that will let you rock your body mods. The way I look at it is, if I can’t have my tattoos and piercings, I didn’t want to work for the company anyways.
I’m not sure why you’re interested in getting pierced or tattooed when you’re clearly so prejudiced against pierced/tattooed people (either that, or you have a really immature idea of what a tattooed or pierced person looks like)
Teachers, doctors, dentists – when have you ever seen yours without any clothes on? And if you haven’t – what makes you think they aren’t covered in metal or ink underneath their smart shirts and prim and proper suits? Many people in highly respected professions use body modification as a way of expressing themselves and reminding themselves that there’s more to them than a boring suit and a sensible job.
Of course, if you choose to cover your face or hands in tattoos or stretch your ears to 2″ then you do limit your career choices somewhat. Sensible body mods however won’t have any affect whatsoever on your job prospects. Piercings can be taken out if you don’t want them any more or hidden with retainers. Tattoos can be covered up with clothing.
For example, I’m relatively heavily pierced and now have several tattoos. But if I wear my hair down and a 3/4 sleeve top, all you can see is a tiny diamond in my bottom lip and a matching one in my nose, both of which I could easily take out and wear a retainer in.
You could work at home as a medical transcriptionist.
Im 21, and eventually will go to law school, i have a nose ring and 5 other piercing plus a tattoo, Im planning eventually to take some of the piercing out, and not to get a tattoo in a visible place…yeah people tend to look down on you when you have a whole bunch stuff…
