I’m planning on getting a tattoo, (either on my wrist, my shoulder, my hip, or my ankle) but just out of curiosity, how do you feel about tattoos?

And if you ever did choose to get one, where would it be and what would it be of?

Are they more prone to infection? Do they hurt more than other tattoos? Do they fade? If so, how quickly? I want to know everything.

I am thinking about getting some sort of small celtic cross tattoo on the inside of my wrist. This would be my first tattoo. I’ve heard that this is one of the more sensitive area’s to get a tattoo. Is this true? I’m also in college studying to be some sort of early childhood teacher, so do you think that I would be looked down upon more so than if I didn’t have a visable tattoo? Thanks for any serious answers!

I need research regarding cultures that either embrace or frown upon tattoos and piercings around the world. They have to have credible sources. Can anyone help me?

So, I am going to attend the MusInk festival later this month…my dream would be to get tattooed by Hannah Aitchison, but since it’s highly improbable, I have other artists in mind. How do I go about getting a tattoo done there? It’s not so easy to make appointments, so is it only by appointments or can you get tattooed on the spot? I’ve never been to a tattoo convention so I’m not sure how it works…

I think some tattoos could look really cool, but some are just too big and it looks stupid. Some of my friends are against all tattoos. The only piercings I do like are earrings (not the ones that make a huge hole in your ear), some eyebrow piercings (has to be small), and maybe a bellybutton or tiny nose piercing. What is your opinion?

New to tattoos: How do I go about describing a detailed/realistic tat without having an exact picture to show? I mean, I want something sweet, like an angelic warrior woman with a beautiful face, half blindfolded in half-mail half-cloth, holding a dagger in one hand, and a bible in the other . But how can an artist show you what you want?
