I would like to become a police officer once my kids are in school. But I’d also like to get some tattoos on my arms in a few weeks. What are the general ‘rules’ as far as this go? I know in the military, a tattoo can not cover up more than 25% of a visible surface. Is this the same guidelines that would be used if I want to be a police officer? Thanks.

New to tattoos: How do I go about describing a detailed/realistic tat without having an exact picture to show? I mean, I want something sweet, like an angelic warrior woman with a beautiful face, half blindfolded in half-mail half-cloth, holding a dagger in one hand, and a bible in the other :P . But how can an artist show you what you want?
